Now that Google+ has made it possible for you to send emails to people without even knowing their email addresses, it’s important that you do some strategizing before fully utilizing the social network service for your email marketing efforts. This is because you only have one try at this; if recipients instantly don’t like what you’ve sent, you can be blocked in an instant.

So, how can you decrease the chances of your Google+ emails being blocked? Here are a few tips:

Know Your Circles

When using Google+ in your email marketing campaign, know that your list is limited to your actual Google+ network. So, you can only send emails to people in your Circles. That said, it’s important that your emails are crafted for certain Circles to increase the chances of positive responses.

For instance, if you’re trying to promote a new service for social media experts, then sending your email to a social media-related circle would be best. On the other hand, if you’re targeting a particular location, you can create a list of people residing in that area. By doing this, you can make sure that your emails have greater appeal and seem more personal to the recipient.

Make Your Subject Pop

Emails from Google+ from unknown senders will automatically be filtered by Gmail into the Social bucket. Because of this, it’s important that your email stands out from the rest when it gets to the folks in your Circles. Do this by making sure your subject is attractive enough to get a click from the recipient.

Make Your Email Look Better

Although text-based emails are simple and fast to do, they aren’t attractive enough to retain the attention of a cold lead. Make your message look better by using HTML-based emails. These look and function better because you can easily incorporate images and links without compromising the email’s loading speed.

With these tips, there’s a better chance that your emails are actually read by your connections, and your address isn’t blocked from sending more in the future.
