The holidays are just around the corner! With only a few more weeks left before the festivities, be sure you’ve double-checked everything you need to make this year’s holiday social media campaigns successful so that your plans fall through without a hitch and you get the most out of the season. As you go over your marketing strategy, don’t forget the following tips to help you stay on top of your followers’ minds:

Engage Your Followers

It’s not enough to broadcast special promos and discounts to get your followers to purchase from you. You also have to build a relationship with them so they develop a strong loyalty to your brand. Even a simple greeting or thanks can go a long way in growing a loyal customer base.

Whether you decide to throw a contest on your social media page or showcase pictures of satisfied shoppers at your store, what matters is that you remain consistent in every instance of engagement to convert followers into actual customers.

Tap Other Channels

Don’t just stick to Facebook or Twitter to get the word out. Tap into other social networks and do cross-channel marketing such as by giving away incentives for following you on Google+ or Pinterest to drive more traffic to your website.

You might also want to invest on Instagram for this year’s marketing campaign. While Facebook offers the best chance to reach up to 71% of adult users in the U.S., 73% of marketers predict that Instagram will be the breakout social network of 2014.

User-generated content on Instagram such as selfies can work as an effective tactic to run campaigns using branded hashtags. And with 9 out of 10 Instagram videos being shared on Facebook, this social media channel also gives marketers an opportunity to do cross-channel marketing as part of their holiday campaigns.

Finally, don’t forget to change your profile page to suit the season!
