Just like in traditional marketing, brands looking to expand and maximize their online presence will need to also put significant focus on online interactions. Gone are the days when brands capitalize on one-sided, all-promotional materials shoved to their targeted audience, and instead genuine communications are put up as a priority. Since its unveiling as Twttr five years ago, Twitter has significantly grown from a casual SMS-centric group messenger, to its current stance as a massively leveraged social media messaging service. In recent years, we’ve seen it develop from its admittedly limiting 140-character format, to an online marketing communications tool with expansions across various platforms and armed with a relatively defined business-geared direction. As part of that expansion, the microblogging giant has launched the Twitter Translation Center to make its services available in other languages. And it aims to do so by crowdsourcing the translation duties.
