Knowing the Language of Your Audience is Crucial

2009 was a great year for companies, small business and individuals who looked to new media for expression, conversation and knowledge. We are sharing information with our friends, colleagues, bosses, Tweeps and random searches at a rapid fire pace. People are able to find information instantly due to improvements to search, from Google’s Social Search to the inclusion of a search bar within the main twitter web application.

As a company looking to reach out to an audience and make a connection, it is more important than ever to know the language of the people looking to seek out that information. With the year coming to an end, there are tons of year end popular lists – from favorite web app, to top bloggers to entertainers of the year. The lists I have been looking into the most are the top used and trending phrases of the year.
