Youtube introduces new features and special content to boost its Music page

Since its launch years ago, Youtube has become known as the harbinger of Internet’s regular video meme-fests. As soon as those first few footages of jocks getting kicked in the crotch, and tweens lip-synching along to some pop song got tossed around the Interwebs, the site quickly gained momentum. After all, the service is free to use, pretty idiot-proof to navigate through, and it’s very easy to share and embed to other social media sites.

Google Video to [finally] kick the bucket

On an e-mail Google sent to users of its Video property, the search engine giant announced that they will be completing their video search engine and distribution product’s retirement by May 13. This comes as a surprise for most of us to find out that Google Video is still up, even after Google purchased YouTube back in 2006.

Question 1: Is “Viral” Right For You?

It’s every marketers dream is to be able to get their video content to the front page of YouTube. By doing so, it’s validating all their hard work and time put into making it. If you look at the front page of YouTube, typically, the videos on it have anywhere from 50,000 views to upwards of 500,000. Even more important is that this is typically only after a few days of being released.

So how can you make your video go viral? It’s easy to say that good content is always a sure shot, but if it were that easy, why doesn’t everyone do that then? I’ve seen plenty of videos with great content, but they only have only a couple thousand views. Great content is important, but there is definitely more to it.
