Since its inception in 2006, Twitter has proven to be quite the comprehensive powerhouse that has invigorated the way people communicate, and has even provided a robust platform where brands can thrive online. Companies, especially small- to medium-sized businesses, were among the first corporate entities to leverage on its communication features, and real-time capabilities for their social engagements with their demographic. Today, the social messaging service has announced a soon-to-be unleashed advertising platform for small business.
The social media giant has forged a partnership with American Express Card to develop an advertising solution to make it easy for small businesses to advertise on Twitter.
“Starting in late March, we will introduce a new advertising offering that makes it simple for companies of any size to grow their business using our Promoted Tweets and Promoted Accounts products.” said the announcement on the official Twitter Blog.
This advertising platform will allow small businesses to promote their accounts across the Twittersphere, feature promotions and messages more prominently in their customers’ or followers’ timelines. They would also be able to find potential new customers by promoting tweets.
US-based American Express Card members and merchants will also be the first ones invited to use the new advertising service. AmEx will also be giving $100 in free advertising to the first 10,000 eligible businesses to sign up, notifying them in March. To sign up, visit ads.twitter.com/amex.
However, for those who are not AmEx members, merchants, or even based in the US, Twitter has announced that they will be expanding this advertising service by the end of the year. For the meantime, they are recommending you submit your contact details to be informed as to when it will be open to more businesses.
